SIVAGANGAI UNION

Sivagangai Union has started functioning in 1983 and is composed of Ramanathapuram and Sivagangai District. Sivagangai Union is procuring milk from 11412 milk pouring members belonging to 506 MPCS. Union has a Dairy capacity of 50,000 LPD at Karaikudi Dairy and 1 Chilling center in Sivagangai with the capacity of 10000 LPD & 13 Bulk Milk Coolers (BMCs) can chill 56,000 LPD.  Milk is collected through 34 Milk collection Routes and Marketing through 17 Milk distribution routes. Sivagangai Union is marketing liquid milk and by-product sales of around districts. Skim milk is sent to Erode for conversion. The remaining Milk is used for the production of Milk products like Curd, Butter, Ghee, Khoa. Sivagangai Union supplies Mineral Mixture @ Subsidy Rs.20/- Per kg and Co-4 green fodder is being supplied @ Rs. 2.50/- Kg and fodder slips @ Rs.0.50/- slip to the Farmers. In Addition to that 10 Units of Doorstep Veterinary and Emergency Health Services for Artificial Insemination service are given to the farmers to improve the Quality and Quantity of milk procurement
