Kanyakumari Union

Started as Nanjil Nadu MSCS, Registered on 25.01.1949, started on 07.02.1950 and converted us Kanyakukmari District MSCU with entire Kanyakumari District and Nanguneri, Rathapuram district and Tirunelveli and on 16.09.1982 converted us Kanyakumari DCMPU Ltd., with area Operation of entire Kanyakumari District.

Our objectives are to assure a standard price to the milk producers, eliminating middle man, insist the importance of cooperativeness at the village level, constructing a stable, steady, and well-organized marketing support, Distribution of quality milk and milk products at the reasonable price to the consumers.

Artificial Insemination:

We are encouraging Milk Production in the Kanyakumari District by conducting training programmes on ‘Artificial Insemination and First Aid’ to the Employees of the MPCSs as a part of our contribution towards White Revolution.

Cattle Feed and Mineral Mixture:

With a view to improve the quality of milk and to maintain the health of animals, cattle feed supplied and mineral mixture supplied with 50% subsidy to the DCS members from union’s own fund.

NADP Veterinary Service Scheme

• Two mobile Veterinary routes
  1. Nagercoil I Head Quarter
  2. Nagercoil II Head Quarter

Activities

• Two regular camps per society/week
• Attending Emergency cases on call basis
• Conducting Special Health camps, Fertility camps at MPCS besides ensuring supply of Cattle  feed, Mineral Mixture
• FMD Vaccination in coordination with Animal Husbandry department

• Target for tagging: 1700 animals
