TRICHIRAPPALLI UNION

The Trichy Milk Union was registered on September 26th, 1980 as a Cooperative Organization under Cooperative Societies Act. The area of operation of Tiruchirappalli District Co-operative Milk Producers Union Limited includes Trichy, Ariyalur, and Permbalur District. At present, the union is procuring an average of milk in Trichy, Ariyalur, and Permbalur Districts from 620 Primary Milk Producers' Cooperative Societies by which 59203   Milk Pouring Members are getting benefited. At present, milk was sold in Trichy Milk Union at the Primary Milk Producers Cooperative Society level for the benefit of Village consumers.

The Milk Poured by the milk producers is being collected through 95 milk collection route (RMC & BMC) vehicles in Trichy, Ariyalur & Perambalur Districts. Chilling Centre, Trichy Main Dairy, Padalur Dairy, and 41 Bulk Milk Coolers (BMCs) with a handling capacity of 588000 litres per day.  In this chilled milk is being collected and dispatched to Chennai Metro Dairies and various places. The capacity of Trichy Main and Padalur Dairies are 150000 and 100000 LPD. Now it is handled daily around 115000 LPD.  This Union is selling milk and various by-products such as Butter, Ghee, Khoa, Curd, Mysurpa, Badam Powder are produced. 

The Trichy District Co-operative Milk Producers Union Limited has engaged the services of 8 Mobile Veterinary consultants under NADP scheme 2020-2021 providing doorstep Animal Health care facilities to the milk producer, Artificial Insemination, Animal Health, and Emergency services to approximately 10379  Dairy Cattle of Milk Producers at Primary milk producers' Co-operative societies are covered under the scheme. Further, the Fodder Bank Development scheme was implemented and 3300 Acres of land has been identified for fodder cultivation to increase the green fodder availability to Dairy Cattles.
