Karur Union
The Karur district Cooperative Milk Producers Union Limited was registered on August 26th, 2019 as a Cooperative organization under Cooperative Societies Act. and started on 28.08.2019. The area of operation of KDCMPU Ltd includes Karur District only. At present the union is procuring average of 80671 litres of milk per day in Karur district from 160 primary milk producers cooperative societies by which 5890 milk pouring members are getting benefited. The milk poured by the milk producers is being collected through 23 milk collection routes in karur milk chilling centre with a handling capacity of 50000 LPD and 4 Bulk Milk Coolers (BMC) with handling capacity of 5,000 litres each installed at Tharagampatty, Chinnandipatty, Velayuthampalayam Thaliyampatty. At present the local sale of milk is 5900 litre per day in Karur district. The monthly sale value of milk product is around 15 to 20 lakhs per month. The milk cost payment to the producers has been made once in 10 days. The Union purchase the cattle feed from AMUL Gujarat Co-operative Milk Marketing Federation Ltd., and Erode Union. The monthly average of 250 MTs cattle feed is being supplied to the milk producers through dairy cooperatives. The union is supplying 3 ton per month of mineral mixture sales to cooperative milk producers’ societies by purchasing it from Trichy union. The union operates 3 Mobile Veterinary Routes under NADP scheme to cover all MPCS in the district and provides emergency services to the producers of karur milk union throughout the year. Under Fodder Development Scheme 750 Acres identified for fodder cultivation. Under Kissan Credit Card scheme target has been fixed to issue 7687 cards which 6677 KCC applications were submitted to bank. New Dairy Administrative Building construction will be made with the estimate of 2.10 crores and the work will be started very shortly. 10 Milk Parlours will open very soon to Increase the sale of Milk and Milk products. NPDD 2017-2018 scheme, Karur union installed small capacity BMC’ 10 nos in 7 MPCS, all are functioning in food condition.
