DHARMAPURI UNION

The Dharmapuri Dist Co-op Milk Producers union has been bifurcated from Krishnagiri union on 26.08.2019. Since then the union is functioning as an independent union with H.Q at Dharmapuri and the jurisdiction of Dharmapuri Dist.

At present the union is procuring milk 140000 LPD of milk from 259 primary Co-operative Societies by 13273 pouring members the entire quantities of milk is being chilled by 33 Nos (5Kl – 21, 2 KL-6, 1 Kl-6)  of Bulk Milk Cooling Centers located at various places across this District, out of  141000 Ltrs, 120000 ltrs of milk is being dispatched directly to Chennai metro, the remaining quantity is being sent to nearby Dairies for conversion of Butter and SMP, around 6000 Ltrs of milk is being utilized for local sales per day to cater the need of our own district consumers.

Recently union become “CANLESS DAIRY” by installing 16 nos of BMC under NPDD 2017-18 and 2018-19 located in this district, the total handling capacity of the Bulk Milk Coolers attained 123000 Ltrs per day, thereby the union saves about Rs.20 Lakhs per annum by cutting the huge expenditures incurred on Rural Milk Transport cost, repairing of old aged machineries and maintenance cost of Chilling center. To top it all, the union has achieved the MBRT of Milk to maximum 2.40 Hours with Bulk Quality 4.1/8.1.

The union has 132 nos of Milk Parlors and 3 Hi-Tech Parlors, through these selling points, an average of 6000 Ltrs of sachet milk is being sold as local sales for this district consumerss and the products being sold to the value of about Rs.16.50 Lakhs per month.

Schemes Implemented

  1. 5 Nos of Veterinarians working under NADP Door step Veterinary Scheme to provide health coverage to milch animal under the co-op ambit.
  2. NPDD Scheme – 16 Nos of Bulk Milk Coolers installed and functioning under the scheme, there by the chilling capacity is augmented to 123000 LPD from the existing capacity 80000 LPD.
  3. 10 Nos of Aavin KIOSK Parlors under Hon’ble CM’s 110 announcement.

Veterinary Services to producers

  1. Vaccination Camps.
  2. Uninterrupted Animal Health and Artificial insemination service to the milch animals of our producers under NADP Door step Veterinary Scheme.
  3. Providing Cattle Feed/Mineral Mixture to the Producers.
  4. Mass Infertility camps and Veterinary health care delivery system.

Vision 2025

  1. To uplift the socio economic standard of milk producers by improving herd health and cattle welfare.
  2. To reduce the Inter calving period
  3. To provide pioneer technologies for animal health and nutrition.
  4. To improve yield Quality and Quality through scientific feeding technologies.
  5. Mastitis is one among the challenging problems causing huge loss to Dairy owners.
  6. Early detection helps in preventing the progress of disease into clinical stages thereby reducing heavy loss to Dairy farmers.
  7. To improve quality milk production at every MPCS level.
